Introducing Canada, our new loan assessor!

Canada, welcome to Smart Money Cymru. We'd love to get to know you a bit more and find out what your role is within the team. So, first things first, what made you want to join the team as a Loan Assessor - and how’s it going so far?

I really wanted to work within a role that is people-centred at its core. I also wanted to build on my existing skills and learn things that are completely new. I am enjoying my role as Loan Assessor, the team are wonderful to work with, I am developing lots of new skills and I always look forward to speaking with our members! 

Tell us, what’s one thing you think members should know about applying for a loan?

It's super important to give us as much information as possible, add every single one of your most used bank accounts. The more information we have the easier and quicker it is for us to make a decision!

That's really good to know! Next, what’s one myth about loans you’d love to bust?  

You don’t need to have a perfect credit score to qualify for a loan! Many people qualify with less than perfect credit histories, and what’s more is that paying a loan back on time and according to you credit agreement will support you to build a higher score!

Working in such a busy company means you must want to unwind at the weekend. So what’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?

I love going for long runs in nature, grabbing a take-away coffee and cinnamon bun post-run and reading a new book in the park with my coffee and pastry.

As it’s getting colder, I will now be switching my usual runs for a spin class instead!

Sounds perfect! If you could swap jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?

Any role where I could travel would be ideal. I love learning new languages and working multilingually!

What’s one thing your teammates should know about you?

I lived in Kazakhstan for a year during my university studies and really miss the snow!

And most importantly… what’s your Starbucks order?

Honestly, I’m not a huge Starbucks lover, but there’s a great little coffee shop on my road that does really good cappuccinos!
