Meet the Team-Stuart, Loans Officer
This month, we’re talking to our Loans Officer Stuart about what he does at Smart Money Cymru. Let’s find out more!
Stuart, you’ve been with Smart Money for 3 years now. What is a Loans Officer?
At SMC, a loans officer looks after those who are struggling with changes in their income and have fallen behind with their loan repayments. I try to support members through to an outcome that both fits with their needs and gets their loan repaid.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day can be very intensive. I have a different set of tasks each day to adhere to, most of which involves speaking to members. My main objective is to alleviate their concerns and attempt to assist them to reach an affordable repayment.
In addition, I work on ascertaining the trends on influences of what is preventing members make their repayments, such as the current cost of living crisis and how SMC can reactive to our members needs during these times.
That sounds like it keeps you very busy. Do you have any interests or hobbies outside of work that we wouldn’t expect you to have?
I am a voracious reader and enjoy an eclectic range of genres, I particularly enjoy 19th century novels.
We’ll have to get some recommendations from on what to read next! Give us a fact about you that not many people know?
I am a huge football fan. I have supported Liverpool since I was five years old. We are enjoying a sublime season at the moment!
I don’t think that was a secret, we definitely know when there’s been a match on in the office as that’s all we hear about! What's the best piece of advice you've been given?
Best piece of advice I have been given- to conduct yourself with humility and treat everyone as you expect to be treated. There should be no room for egos in this world.
I’m glad we got to know a little bit more about you and your role Stuart. Thanks for chatting with us!
