The merger between Red Kite Credit Union and Smart Money Cymru Community Bank is now complete

After several months of work, members of Red Kite Credit Union were warmly welcomed to Smart Money Cymru Community Bank after the merger between Red Kite Credit Union and Smart Money Cymru Community Bank was completed on the 21st of December 2022.

All Red Kite Credit Union members’ accounts have now transferred to Smart Money Cymru Community Bank and members should not at first notice any significant differences in how services are managed and all regular volunteers are available to support members through this transition. Members will also have the option to carry out their business at the other Smart Money Cymru branches located in Blackwood, Brecon, Caerphilly and Tredegar should they wish to and can contact the SMC Customer Advisor team as via telephone and email Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

Smart Money Cymru Community Bank is committed to providing access to savings, loans and banking facilities to the residents of Powys, so Community Banking Hubs in Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells, Llanwrtyd Wells and Knighton are all open as usual . Red Kite CU’s admin office in The Hive, Llandrindod Wells will remain in use in the coming months.
